Internationally renowned heart surgeon and member of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Dr. Nazih Zuhdi died surrounded by family last week.

He was a medical pioneer and life saver for so many on this earth. He was gentle and kind but he could become a tiger when fighting for a cause important to better medicine.

As Vicki Gourley, publisher of OKC Friday, wrote in her story, Dr.

Zuhdi and his wife, Annette, attended and sponsored many charitable events benefiting hospitals, the arts and history. She said that they could hardly go out to dinner without someone coming up and grabbing his hand to say "thank you” for saving their life.
