Rafiqul amin biography books

The Dhaka Special Judge Court 4 on Thursday jailed 47 people, including Destiny Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited managing director Rafiqul Amin and chair former army chief Harun-ur-Rashid, for varying terms for embezzlement and laundering of money.

Rafiqul received 12-year and Harun 4-year imprisonment.

Judge Sheikh Nazmul Alam pronounced the verdict.

Earlier, on March 27, the judge fixed May 12 for delivering the verdict in the money embezzlement and laundering case.

Destiny MD Rafiqul and 46 others were made accused in the case.

Of the accused, Rafiqul Amin, Jasmine Akhter, Ziaul Haque Mollah, Saiful Islam Rubel and Mohammad Hossain were produced in the court from jail while Destiny Group chair retired lieutenant general Harun-ur-Rashid and director retired lieutenant colonel Md Didarul Alam made themselves present in the court during the announcement of the judgment.

The rest 40 accused are absconding.
